Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Honorable scholar and brother Ata Bin Khalil, after greetings:

We all know that the Ummah is closer today than ever before to the declaration of the Khilafah (Caliphate) state, which might be covered by a breaking news report we could hear at any moment, by Allah's permission. However, my question, given your position and knowledge of the course of events, is: Is the Islamic Ummah ready now for such a great matter? Especially if we take into account that the tasks following the establishment of the state may be much more difficult than the work to establish it. Is the Ummah ready to bear such consequences?

Answer:

Wa Alaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

The issue, my brother, is that Allah (swt) grants us victory so that we establish the Khilafah state. As for whether the Ummah is ready to bear these consequences? Then yes. What it lacks is a pious and pure leadership that leads it toward goodness under the shade of the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate). Allah (swt) describes this Ummah:

كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ

"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." (QS. Ali 'Imran [3]: 110)

Yes, destructive cultures, false ideas, and dangerous concepts have entered the Ummah. The Islamic bond has weakened among it, and in its place, nationalist and patriotic bonds have spread... but all of this is not deep within the majority of the Ummah; rather, it floats on the surface due to the oppressive rulers and the media outlets that move in their orbit. Nevertheless, goodness exists. Perhaps you follow the work of the Hizb and see that the Khilafah has developed a public opinion after there was none, and it has become a striking general demand after calling for it was once considered a disgrace!

My brother, living nations, even if subjected to factors of weakness and division, must eventually revolt. The Crusaders stayed in our lands for about two hundred years, and in Jerusalem alone for about 90 years. Then came Hattin in Rabi' al-Akhir 583 AH, and the liberation of Jerusalem in Rajab 583 AH. Then the Crusaders were expelled in the most humiliating manner after Salahuddin eliminated the Fatimids in Egypt and restored the link to the Abbasid Khilafah... Similarly, the Tatars (Mongols) destroyed Baghdad and killed the Khalifah in 656 AH. The Khilafah moved to Egypt, and not two years passed until Ain Jalut occurred in 658 AH, where the Tatars were eliminated...

Thus, dear brother, the restoration of the Khilafah with its pious and pure leadership will, by Allah's permission, return the Ummah to its glory and conquests. And that is not difficult for Allah.

May Allah bless you for your concern and interest.

Your brother, Ata Bin Khalil Abu al-Rashtah
