Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

This is a question in which I compare the time the Prophet (saw) obtained the Nusrah (Material Support) and the beginning of the migration of his companions, with what is happening now in Syria.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is a political party that follows the method (tariqah) of the Prophet to establish the Islamic State. Now, Hizb ut-Tahrir has begun to obtain Nusrah in Syria, and we have witnessed this on the Central Media Office of the party.

The question: Why does Hizb ut-Tahrir not ask its members to migrate to Syria as the Prophet asked his members? Or is the reality different? Please clarify this.

Answer:

Wa Alaikum Assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.

Yes, the Messenger (saw) did command the Sahaba to migrate to Medina, but this was after the Messenger (saw) had obtained the Nusrah from the people of Medina—meaning, after the Second Pledge of al-'Aqaba (Bay'at al-Aqaba al-Thaniya). It was a pledge for ruling; thus, Medina became Dar al-Islam (the Abode of Islam) legally (hukman) because the power was secured therein for Islam and the Muslims. It was awaiting the arrival of the Messenger of Allah (saw) to become Dar al-Islam in practice (fi'lan), where the rulings are implemented...

When something like the Second Pledge of al-'Aqaba is achieved for us, then the migration (Hijrah) will be realized in its proper form according to the Shari'i rulings.

Your brother, Ata Bin Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah
