Question:
The Pakistani Army Chief, Asim Munir, stated during his visit to America: ("Pakistan wishes to extend bilateral engagement with the United States through a long-term multi-domain partnership," and emphasized that his "meetings during his visit to the United States with the political and military leadership were very positive"... Pakistan Army Arabic page on X, 20/12/2023). The Pakistani Army leadership had announced on 11/12/2023 that the Army Chief would visit the United States in his first official visit since his appointment... What is meant by expanding Pakistan's participation with the United States in a multi-domain partnership... and that his meetings with the US political and military leadership were positive? Does this mean more alliance with the American colonialist, especially on the issue of India and Kashmir... then towards Afghanistan... and also to prevent support for the people of Palestine against the aggression of the Jews, and subsequently accepting the Jewish entity under the name of the two-state solution? Thank you...
Answer:
To answer the above questions, we review the following points:
1- The appointment of Asim Munir as Army Chief was announced on 24/11/2022, succeeding General Qamar Javed Bajwa, upon his recommendation and with the approval of the pro-American Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This indicates America's desire for his appointment as Army Chief and that he would comply with its demands, just as Bajwa had complied and cooperated... His appointment came at a time when Pakistan was suffering from an economic crisis; he is someone who could ensure the flow of funds from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, as he served in Saudi Arabia and enjoys good relations... (Observers believe that the Army Chief’s visit may pave the way for much-needed financial aid... 05/01/2023 https://tribune.com.pk/)
Asim Munir was part of the military system that is entirely subordinate to America... He rose through the security and military ranks, serving as the Commander of the Northern Area between 2014-2016, then Director of Military Intelligence (MI) 2016-2018, and thereafter Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) 2018-2019. He fought in the tribal areas and is considered one of the pillars of the American-affiliated Pakistani regime... He was later dismissed from the ISI post by a decision of former Prime Minister Imran Khan without any reason being given, and Faiz Hameed was appointed in his place. A dispute occurred between Imran Khan and the Army over the appointment of the Army Chief who would succeed Bajwa when his term ended on 29/11/2022. Reports mentioned that Imran Khan was at odds with Asim Munir, who was close to Bajwa, and desired to appoint Faiz Hameed, the Director-General of ISI, considering him close to him. It appears that Imran Khan was seeking to impose his will on the Army as Prime Minister so as not to remain under the Army's dominance. The Army acts as the guardian of governance and imposes the policies it wants. Because of this dispute, Imran Khan was ousted in April 2022, and subsequently, lawsuits were filed against him on charges of corruption and disclosing state secrets. It was stated in a Q&A on 05/05/2022: (...And as we said before, Imran Khan did not expect that all his services to the Army and America behind it would be of no avail to him! It is as if he did not realize that whoever reaches power with the support of the colonialist kuffar as their agent becomes like a chess piece to them, moved as they wish, and even discarded as they wish if he does not achieve their interests without deviation. This is what happened with Imran Khan!) Thus, America did not protest the ousting of Imran Khan and implicitly agreed to it, even though he was its agent. He, Bajwa, and Hameed had agreed to the annexation of Kashmir by India in 2019, as they were visiting America and met its President Trump two weeks before the annexation, and they took no serious action to respond to the annexation. Rather, they implicitly approved it to please America and out of concern for their positions and narrow interests. America supported the military's dominance over governance and the people because its leadership had become linked to it and achieved its colonial interests, unlike the political medium which contains agents for America as well as agents for Britain, and America cannot guarantee the loyalty of the government if the agents in this medium change.
2- The Pakistani Army's Arabic page on X stated on 11/12/2023 that ("The Pakistani Army Chief, General Asim Munir, left for the United States of America on an official visit. During his visit, he will meet with senior officials and other officials in the United States. This is his first since taking office")... Egypt's Al-Shorouk News (11/12/2023) quoted the Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune saying that ("This visit comes after senior US officials visited Pakistan last week. A senior Biden administration official specializing in refugee issues paid a four-day visit to Islamabad, the first in a series of visits by US officials amid deteriorating relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Julieta Valls Noyes, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, remained in the Pakistani capital until last Thursday, 07/12/2023"). On this day, Army Chief General Asim Munir was also quoted saying that "he supports his government's decision to deport illegal foreigners and that they affect Pakistan's security and economy, also emphasizing that they be deported with dignity and according to reality and applicable laws." Here, the extent of America's interference in Pakistan's internal affairs, including the issue of refugees, is evident. This issue concerns the Afghans who took refuge in Pakistan due to wars and have resided in their second country for years, some for decades... They are not foreigners; rather, the lands of the Muslims are one. It is America that works to exploit the differences between the two Muslim countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan, to employ these disputes to consolidate its influence in the region... Thus, America wants to keep relations tense between them and prevent their unity, so that Pakistan remains preoccupied with this tension between itself and Afghanistan instead of being occupied with fighting India to liberate Kashmir! Thus, India ensures the security of its front with Pakistan, and Modi's government focuses its efforts on serving America in the conflict with China.
3- The Knowledge Page quoted the Pakistani Dawn newspaper on 15/12/2023 that ("Army Chief Asim Munir met with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on 14/12/2023, and after the meeting, the Pentagon issued a brief statement saying, 'The two officials discussed recent regional security developments and potential areas for bilateral defense cooperation.' He also 'met General CQ Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff'"). The page mentioned that ("The Army Chief met US Secretary of State Blinken, his Deputy for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, and Deputy National Security Advisor Jonathan Finer on 15/12/2023"). The page quoted a US State Department spokesperson saying ("Pakistan is an important partner, and we engage with a wide range of interlocutors within the Pakistani government... We look forward to continuing the partnership with Pakistan in regional security and defense cooperation"). The page quoted a diplomatic source regarding his meeting with Blinken saying, "They discussed the overall bilateral relations and the regional situation." The US State Department spokesperson answered a question about the meeting of the Pakistani Army Chief and the head of the Pakistani intelligence service with Antony Blinken, saying: "We look forward to partnering with them in regional security and defense cooperation"... US Government website 18/12/2023).
All of this shows the breadth of the Pakistani Army Chief's military, security, and even political meetings, as if he were the head of state!... It is not excluded that America wants, through the breadth of these meetings, to reset affairs in Pakistan. It wants to ensure that its men and their policies inside Pakistan are as it desires, especially since the elections in Pakistan are approaching (February 2024) if they are not postponed... Thus, these meetings, even if they are outwardly under the name of "cooperation," are in reality loyalty to America... What is strange and wondrous is that Army Chief Asim Munir appears religious, to the point that some have called him the "Mullah General," i.e., the Sheikh! Yet, he announces an alliance with America, follows its plans, implements its goals, and opens the way for it to expand its influence in the region under the name of partnership and security and defense cooperation... It is as if he does not realize that true religious devotion to Islam imposes upon him loyalty to Allah, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, and His Messenger ﷺ, and not to the disbelievers:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَجْعَلُوا لِلَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَاناً مُبِيناً
"O you who have believed, do not take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do you wish to give Allah against yourselves a clear case?" (TMQ An-Nisa [4]: 144)
For religious devotion is not a name without substance!
أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ
"Do they not then understand?" (TMQ Ya-Sin [36]: 68)
4- Voice of Pakistan page published on 19/12/2023: (Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Syed Asim Munir visited the Central Command headquarters in Tampa Bay, Florida, and discussed a range of issues, including military relations and regional security with General Michael Kurilla, Commander of the United States Central Command. The "Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)" of the Pakistani Army said in a statement that the Pakistani Chief of Staff visited the US Central Command headquarters and held in-depth talks with the Commander of the US Central Command, General Michael Erik Kurilla. During the meeting, both sides exchanged detailed views on issues of mutual interest, especially cooperation in regional security affairs. The Pakistani Chief of Staff said that the generals of both armies exchanged views on ways for joint training and reaffirmed the need to enhance training interactions... During the visit, Pakistan's top general also visited the US Central Command's Joint Operations Center... The Biden-led administration provided support to Pakistan... and described Pakistan as a "Major Non-NATO Ally").
From this, the importance of the visit becomes clear, as does the importance of the Pakistani Army Chief to the US administration and his meetings with American officials at the highest levels, their discussion with him on important issues, and the focus on security and defense cooperation. That is, for Pakistan to be the spearhead for America in the region to fight the movements of Muslims against it and to maintain its influence therein. It is not satisfied with political agents but also military agents under the name of dealing with a wide range of interlocutors within the Pakistani government, and considers Pakistan an important partner, i.e., an important servant to its policies in the region, noting that it has declared it a major non-NATO ally since 2004.
5- The Pakistani Army Arabic page on X said on 20/12/2023 ("Army Chief General Asim Munir participated in a candid dialogue with members of prominent US think tanks and media. The Army Chief presented Pakistan's perspective on regional security, transnational terrorism, and the importance of maintaining strategic stability in South Asia"). The Army Chief said, "Pakistan is a country of importance from a geopolitical and geoeconomic perspective, and wishes to develop itself as a hub for connectivity and a gateway to Central Asia and beyond," and stressed that "Pakistan wishes to extend bilateral engagement with the United States through a long-term multi-domain partnership." He emphasized that "his meetings during his visit to the United States with the political and military leadership were very positive" and highlighted that "Pakistan has stood as a bulwark against transnational terrorism for decades to ensure regional stability and global peace and security."
Explaining that "Pakistan has made unparalleled contributions and sacrifices in its ongoing war against terrorism. It will continue the struggle until the end..." He also highlighted the need to resolve the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the resolutions of the UN Security Council, saying: "Kashmir is an international dispute and no unilateral action can change the nature of this dispute against the wishes of millions of the region's inhabitants." He also highlighted the immediate need to end the suffering in Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance, and implement the two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region.
6- Here, the Pakistani Army Chief focuses on his desire to expand the alliance with America and his loyalty to it under the name of bilateral participation, wanting it to be long-term and multi-domain, i.e., in all subjects. He wants to make Pakistan a bulwark for America to fight the Ummah and its liberation movement under the name of fighting transnational terrorism, specifically between Afghanistan and Pakistan and other Islamic lands in general. This is despite the fact that they are one country divided and their borders drawn by the colonialists who used to occupy these lands and divided them into conflicting states so that they remain weak, unable to do anything, enabling them to control, colonize, and use some against others.
As for Kashmir, General Munir's visit to Washington coincided with the Indian Supreme Court's upholding of the integration of the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir with India. Al Jazeera Net reported on 14/12/2023: (A judicial council consisting of 5 judges, including Chief Justice Chandrachud, announced its decision on the 12th of this December, accepting the central government's decision to revoke the autonomy of Kashmir...) India did not take this decision except with America's approval and support, yet the Army Chief visits it, forgetting or pretending to forget its support for India and its enmity towards Pakistan! Furthermore, the Army Chief considered the Kashmir issue international and that it should be solved according to unjust UN resolutions, while the Kashmir issue is an Islamic issue and it is a land occupied by India that Pakistan must rise to liberate and help its people in resisting the Hindu occupation and arrogance. This is especially since it is capable of doing so, as the Kashmiri jihadi movements were on the verge of victory over India with the support of the Pakistani army in the Battle of Kargil Heights in 1999, were it not for the betrayal of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief Pervez Musharraf at that time when America ordered them to stop this support, withdraw Pakistani forces, and declare the Kashmiri movements as terrorists.
As for the brutal Jewish aggression on Gaza and the two-state solution about which he says ("and the implementation of the two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region"), Palestine is a blessed land... an Islamic land where it is not permissible for the Jews to have authority, nor does the two-state solution have a place there. Rather, it is as Al-Faruq opened it, the Rightly Guided Caliphs preserved it, Salahuddin liberated it, and Abdul Hamid protected it from the Jews... Thus, Palestine is Islamic land... it is not for sale, nor does it accept division between its people and those who occupied it and expelled its people from it... Its solution is not the two-state solution, but rather it is as the Almighty, the Compeller said, and His word, Glory be to Him, is the true solution:
وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ
"And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you." (TMQ Al-Baqarah [2]: 191)
7- The problem lies in the mentality of Pakistan's rulers and military leaders and their wrong way of thinking, as they have made themselves a vehicle for America, despite having the enormous potential to become a major power that challenges and competes with America. They could address their issues and problems themselves according to the concepts and standards of their Deen which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought as revelation from Allah, the All-Powerful, the Almighty. He saved the Arabs from the conflict of Jahiliyyah among themselves and made them, through Islam, the best nation brought forth for mankind... It conquered the land of Persia and removed the Persian state, which was a major power at that time... and conquered Constantinople, the capital of the Romans, which was also a major power at that time... Islam and the Muslims were honored by the State of Islam which illuminated the world with justice, and then the truth prevailed and falsehood vanished; indeed, falsehood is ever bound to vanish... This is what Hizb ut-Tahrir seeks your support to achieve by establishing the State of Islam, the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood as promised by Allah Almighty:
وَعَدَ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلِفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ
"Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them." (TMQ An-Nur [24]: 55)
And as His Messenger ﷺ gave the glad tidings:
«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكاً جَبْرِيَّةً فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»
"Then there will be an oppressive rule, and it will last for as long as Allah wishes it to last, then He will lift it when He wishes to lift it. Then there will be a Khilafah on the method of Prophethood. Then he (the Prophet) fell silent." (Narrated by Ahmad).
