Question:
Turk Press published on its website on April 14, 2025, regarding the reasons for the Jewish entity's objection to the establishment of a Turkish airbase at the "T4" airport inside Syrian territory. It mentioned among them (the military reason represented by the fact that the Turkish presence would restrict the freedom of movement of the Israeli Air Force over Syria and impose security coordination that Tel Aviv does not currently desire...). The Wall Street Journal had published on its website on April 12, 2025, that Trump indicated his readiness to mediate during his meeting with Netanyahu last week (confirming his confidence in his ability to resolve differences on the condition that both parties act rationally). Does this mean that the Jewish state is able to prevent Turkey from having a military presence in Syria despite the Turkish-Syrian agreement? And does America have a role in this matter that explains Trump's readiness to mediate?
Answer:
To clarify the answer, we will look back a little and review the following matters:
First: During Netanyahu's visit to Hungary, Trump invited him to come to America, which was a notable invitation:
- Netanyahu was on a visit to Hungary that began on April 2, 2025, and lasted for four days. it was his first visit to a European country since the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest last year.
- In an unusual manner, U.S. President Trump called Netanyahu and Orbán (the Prime Minister of Hungary) during their meeting in Budapest, extending an invitation to Netanyahu to visit the White House: (Trump revealed, while speaking to reporters on board the presidential plane, that he had a phone call with Netanyahu yesterday, Thursday, and that they discussed international political issues, noting that the Israeli Prime Minister might visit the United States soon. An Israeli official confirmed to the Axios website that Trump had extended a formal invitation to Netanyahu to visit the White House, but the date of the meeting has not yet been set, while an American official reported that the visit could take place within the next few weeks. Al-Qahira News, April 4, 2025).
- The Jewish entity was surprised by this urgent invitation, especially after the White House refused to schedule it after the Jewish holidays: (There is concern in the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the White House's insistence on holding the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Netanyahu tomorrow, Monday, and not after the Jewish Passover holiday in two weeks, as Netanyahu's office wanted. A statement issued by Netanyahu's office yesterday said that he "will head to Washington following an invitation he received from U.S. President Donald Trump. They will discuss topics: customs... efforts to return our captives... Israel-Turkey relations... the Iranian threat, and the struggle against the International Criminal Court." Concern is rising in Netanyahu's office due to the White House's urgency to hold the meeting tomorrow, and the possibility that Trump might surprise Netanyahu with a topic or topics that Israel does not expect, according to Channel 12 today, Sunday..." Arab 48, April 6, 2025).
- Netanyahu left Hungary and headed directly to Washington without returning to the entity, in another sign of urgency!
Second: All this immediate arrangement indicates an urgent matter. By scrutinizing the announced research topics for their meeting, at least one matter was the main driver for this urgent invitation, which is likely the situation in Syria for the following reasons:
- By scrutinizing the statements of U.S. President Trump before a small number of journalists during his meeting with Netanyahu on April 7, 2025, after the White House canceled the press conference that he was scheduled to hold after the meeting accompanied by Netanyahu, we find that his statements regarding the Syrian arena and the relationship with Turkey were very positive about his relationship with Turkish President Erdogan and about a call between them. He said: ("I told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan our congratulations... You have done what others have failed to do for two thousand years... You have taken Syria, whatever its historical names, through your proxies." Trump continued: "Erdogan said no, no, no... It wasn't me who took Syria, so I told him... It was you, but okay, you don't have to admit it, so he said okay, maybe it was me who took it." Trump added: "Erdogan is a very tough and smart person and has accomplished something no one could do before... You have to acknowledge his victory." Trump addressed his guest Benjamin Netanyahu, saying: "Any problem you have with Turkey, I think I can solve it as long as you are logical in your requests... You have to be logical... We all have to be logical." Turk Press, April 8, 2025). Trump demanded that the Jewish entity be rational in matters concerning Turkey in Syria.
- The Jewish entity had no choice but to comply with this American request: (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Tel Aviv would not allow Syria to be used as a base to launch attacks against it, noting that relations with Turkey were friendly but "deteriorated" recently. He said after meeting U.S. President Donald Trump: "We also addressed the situation in Syria. We had friendly relations with Turkey that deteriorated." He added: "We do not want to see a situation where others, including Turkey, use Syria as a base to attack Israel." He added: "We talked about how we can avoid this conflict and I believe there is no better axis for this goal than the President of the United States." Al-Quds Al-Arabi, April 8, 2025).
- The Jewish entity had launched severe airstrikes on Syrian airports. RT reported on April 2, 2025, from a statement by the Syrian Foreign Ministry: ("Israeli forces launched airstrikes on five different areas across the country within 30 minutes, resulting in the almost complete destruction of Hama Military Airport and the injury of dozens of civilians and military personnel." The Syrian Foreign Ministry considered that "this unjustified escalation constitutes a deliberate attempt to destabilize Syria and prolong the suffering of its people."). These airports located in central Syria are where Turkey plans to establish bases for itself under an agreement with the new Syrian government: (The Israeli Foreign Minister accused Turkey of playing a "negative role" in Syria, and the Israeli minister warned the head of the transitional period in Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, that he "will pay a very heavy price" if he allows "hostile forces" to enter his country... Ankara is currently negotiating a mutual defense agreement with the new Sharaa government, and reports have stated that Turkey is in the process of deploying aircraft and air defense systems in the T4 and Aleppo airbases in Syria... Some analysts compared the intensive airstrikes launched by Israel on Hama airport this week with the less intense raids that targeted the outskirts of the T4 base, suggesting that Turkey may have already moved some of its equipment there. BBC, April 5, 2025). News circulated about the death of 3 Turkish engineers at Hama airport as a result of the Jewish entity's bombing, (Syrian military sources revealed the death of 3 Turkish engineers in the Israeli bombing of Hama military airport last Wednesday, noting that the engineers were working on installing technical equipment at Hama airport, including air defenses that Turkey had brought to the airport. Erem News, April 4, 2025).
- It appears that Turkey was very angry with the Jewish entity because of its recent raids, especially on Syrian airports, and contacted America urgently to put an end to the Jewish entity in Syria, especially since Turkey is carrying out a mission agreed upon with America in Syria. Therefore, the urgent invitation was extended to the Prime Minister of the Jewish entity to Washington, and Trump asked him to solve problems rationally with Turkey.
Third: What indicates that this topic was the most pressing in that meeting are many other statements pointing to that:
- The Turkish Foreign Minister said (that the United States must "reset" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and draw a framework for him. Anadolu, April 9, 2025).
- Immediate direct talks were announced between the Jewish entity and Turkey. RT quoted the Turkish Foreign Minister on April 9, 2025, as saying: (Hakan Fidan stated in his remarks that in order to prevent "misunderstanding" in Syria, they are establishing "direct contact" with Israel. Fidan explained that Israel has identified a strategy of "leaving nothing" for the new administration in Syria. The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed the necessity of ending Israel's occupation of Syrian territories and stopping the bombing of its infrastructure. He pointed out that instability in a country neighboring Turkey would affect it and cause it harm, warning that Ankara "cannot remain silent about this"... We have no intention of entering into any clash or confrontation with any country in the region, including Israel... We cooperate with the new Syrian administration in the field of security and in the fight against terrorism).
- (The Reuters agency said last week that Turkish military teams inspected at least three airbases in Syria to deploy Turkish forces there as part of a planned mutual defense agreement before Israel targeted the sites with airstrikes. Fidan told CNN Turk on Wednesday: "While we are carrying out certain operations in Syria, there must be a mechanism to avoid a conflict with Israel, whose planes fly in that area, similar to the mechanisms we have with the United States and Russia." Al-Arabiya, April 10, 2025).
- (An informed Syrian source says in a statement to Independent Arabia: "Indeed, there is talk of an agreement. This agreement is a non-engagement agreement and not a disengagement agreement, because originally there is no engagement between Turkey and Israel in Syria. In other words, the agreement is to draw boundaries so that if there is Israeli aircraft in Syrian airspace, its destination is reported." Independent Arabia, April 9, 2025). Meaning, similar to the previous Turkish agreement with Russia to prevent engagement between them in Syria!
- All of this is clear from statements by officials in Turkey as reported by Asharq Al-Awsat on April 13, 2025: [Turkey confirmed that it will continue its technical talks with Israel to reach a mechanism for de-escalation, set rules of engagement, and prevent incidents or clashes on Syrian territory. The Turkish Foreign Minister said that his country wants to achieve stability in Syria and stay away from any provocations, and is working not to enter into any conflict with any country inside Syria. Two delegations (Turkish and Israeli) held a meeting in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, last Wednesday, for talks aimed at avoiding incidents or clashes in Syria after tensions rose in the past two weeks... Asharq Al-Awsat, April 13, 2025].
- Al-Jazeera reported on its website on April 14, 2025, from a report by writer Andrea Muratore published by the Italian website InsideOver [that Turkey plays a pivotal role for the new American administration as a bridge to solve many hot issues in the Middle East and across the world, after years of tension with the previous administration... The writer said in his report that U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly confirmed his admiration for the personality of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his political acumen, and since the beginning of his second term, he has sent clear signals of courtship showing his desire to seek his help in settling a number of files... Al-Jazeera, April 14, 2025].
All this indicates that America treats the enemy Jewish entity and the Turkish regime as allies, managing matters between them in a way that serves its interests!
Fourth: It is painful that the United States has come to manage affairs in our countries as it pleases, making the priority in the region for the Jewish entity that usurped the Blessed Land, the land of Al-Isra' and Al-Mi'raj, Palestine, while the rulers in the Muslim countries are at the beck and call of the United States. This is the case even though the land of the Khilafah in its last state, the Ottoman State—where the Jews wanted to have a foothold in the Blessed Land in exchange for paying millions of gold coins—the Khalifah rejected them with a harsh response, saying:
("Palestine is not my property, but the property of the Islamic Ummah. My people have fought for this land and watered it with their blood. So, let the Jews keep their millions. If the Khilafah State is one day torn apart, then they can take Palestine without a price...") And this is what happened!
This Turkey, after the Khilafah was removed from it, is prevented by the Jewish entity from having a military base in Syria, even after the Syrian regime's approval of it...! This is the condition of the Muslims after the disappearance of the Khilafah... and it is a grave matter!
The strength and honor of the Muslims lie in their Khilafah. Hizb ut Tahrir, the leader that does not lie to its people, calls upon the People of Power in the Muslim lands to support it in resuming the Islamic way of life on earth by establishing the Khilafah once again, and then the honor of the Muslims will return:
وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ * بِنَصْرِ اللهِ يَنْصُرُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
"And on that day the believers will rejoice in the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful." (Ar-Rum [30]: 4-5)
