Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and those who follow him...
O Muslims... O noble Da’wah carriers... O viewers...
O listeners... O everyone who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful...
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh...
I bring to you, dear brothers, on this good night, glad tidings of two noble matters:
First: The arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan:
After seeking the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan tonight, the night of Saturday, May 27, 2017, the sighting of the crescent has been legally proven according to Sharia in some Muslim countries. Accordingly, tomorrow, Saturday, is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan...
Al-Bukhari reported in his Sahih from the path of Muhammad bin Ziyad, who said: I heard Abu Hurairah (ra) saying: The Prophet (saw) said, or he said: Abu al-Qasim (saw) said:
صوموا لِرُؤيتِهِ وأَفْطِرُوا لرؤيتِهِ فإنْ غُـبِّيَ عليكم فأَكْمِلُوا عِدَّةَ شعبانَ ثلاثين
"Fast upon its sighting and break your fast upon its sighting, and if it is obscured from you, then complete the period of Sha'ban as thirty days." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari)
Allah has made this noble month specifically for Him, the Almighty, in which He rewards whomever He wills without measure. "Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it," as he (saw) said in his Hadith Qudsi (agreed upon). It is a month witnessed in the history of Islam, in which the Noble Qur’an was revealed:
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدَى وَالْفُرْقَانِ
"The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion." (Surah Al-Baqarah [2]: 185)
In this month, Muslims would compete in performing good deeds, as rewards and good deeds are multiplied, and they hoped for Allah’s forgiveness for their sins through the sincerity of their fasting and devotion. It is mentioned in Sahih al-Bukhari on the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra), from the Prophet (saw), who said:
مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ، وَمَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ القَدْرِ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ
"Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever spends the night of Laylat al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari)
...Their Khalifah and their governors used to safeguard the security of the lands and the people, and they carried Islam to the world through Da’wah and Jihad. The Khalifah of the Muslims ruled them by the Law of Allah and performed Jihad with them in the cause of Allah. Thus, their armies traversed the wilderness and their ships crossed the depths of the seas to raise the Word of Allah and spread justice throughout the world. Their armies would address the waters of the ocean: "If we knew of a land behind you, we would have crossed you to raise the banner of Islam." Their Khalifah would call out to the clouds: "Drop your rain wherever you wish, for by the permission of Allah, it will water the lands of the Muslims." The Muslims stood behind their Khalifah, supporting him when he did well and holding him accountable if he erred, and both he and they were equal before the Law of Allah. The Ummah, the State, and society were driven by Islam and moved by it. They would welcome Ramadan with bright, smiling, and optimistic faces, and bid it farewell saddened by its departure, longing for its return to witness goodness with it and through it, thus winning in both worlds—and that is the great success.
We ask Allah, the Almighty, that this month be a source of goodness and blessing for all Muslims, and that the next Ramadan arrives while the Righteous Khilafah has been established, and the Khalifah is the one who supervises the seeking of its crescent, and the announcement is made through him. Then, he would return it as a month of victory and Jihad, and a blessing and mercy for the servants of Allah. At that time, Ramadan will be sheltered by the shade of the Khilafah, and its light and sharpness will return to it. It will return as a month of worship and Jihad, and its two takbirs will return: the takbir of the Mu'adhin announcing the break of the fast for the fasting person, and the takbir of the Mujahid announcing his victory. Indeed, it is near by the permission of Allah:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدْرًا
"Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent." (Surah At-Talaq [65]: 3)
The second matter that I bring you glad tidings of is the launch of "Al-Waqiyah" channel on this blessed night... Today, the tree of media in Hizb ut-Tahrir has borne fruit—a bright, good, and blessed fruit that delights the eyes and heals the hearts... a fruit that protects its viewer from error, deception, and misguidance, speaking the truth and vanishing falsehoods... a fruit witnessed by the eyes and by which insights are illuminated... a fruit that carries goodness for its people and for everyone who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful... a fruit named Waqiyah (Protector), and its reality is a protector. What an excellent name and what an excellent reality, for it illuminates the path and guides to the way by speaking the truth that it proclaims:
قُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
"Say, 'This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him.'" (Surah Yusuf [12]: 108)
Finally, but not least, I open, in the Name of Allah, the delight of the eye, Al-Waqiyah, to join its two sisters, the Radio and Al-Rayah newspaper, so they may together proclaim the good word—audible, readable, and visual. Thus, they shall illuminate insights, revive hearts, and convey goodness to the ends of the earth, rising with it to the heights of the sky:
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ
"Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?" (Surah Ibrahim [14]: 24)
Our final prayer is that all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
Wassalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
